Jim Mitzner's Mission
Jim Mitzner is a man of his word, and his actions show it. There are many important issues that he intends to address head on and plans to fix for good.First and foremost, Mitzner wants to ensure that safety and trust are restored within the county. Mitzner promises to be a "pro-active" Sheriff instead of one that it is merely "re-active". In addition, he will be implementing zero-tolerance drug policies and enforcing ethical Law Enfocement practices. The most important thing that Mitzner plans to do is eliminate wasteful spending of your tax dollars.
A Brief Biography
Jim Mitzner was born and raised in Miami County. After graduating from Paola High School in 1989, he attended both the Missouri and Kansas law enforcement academies. Jim began working for the Miami County Sheriff's Office in 1993. In 2003, Jim was shot in the line of duty on a "routine" traffic stop. Jim was awarded a Medal of Valor for his bravery then, he was terminated in 2004.
Jim and his wife of 7 years, Katie, now reside in Osawatomie with their 18 month old son, Joseph. Jim Mitzner knows the importance of family value and he will strive to protect you and your's.
